Toyota City is one of Japan's leading industrial cities, home to a variety of manufacturing industries, including the core automotive industry. Furthermore, when combined with the Aichi Prefecture New Aichi Creative Industry Location Subsidy Type B, which is also available under the combined conditions, the total subsidy amount will be 3 billion yen, one of the largest subsidies in the prefecture.

The automotive industry is Toyota City's core industry, with the transportation machinery and equipment manufacturing industry accounting for approximately 14.67 trillion yen in shipment value (according to the 2020 Industrial Statistics Survey Report, "Toyota City Industry"). The city is actively supporting and attracting companies that manufacture and develop environmentally friendly next-generation automobiles, such as fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs), and electric vehicles (EVs).
