Kitanagoya City is located in the northwestern part of Aichi Prefecture, endowed with a mild climate and fertile land. The Aise and Gojo Rivers run through the City with beautiful countryside scenery. Capitalizing on its convenient location just 10km away from the Nagoya City center, it continues to develop as a residential, commercial, and industrial city. The ”West Area of Okimura Development Work” project is underway from FY2017.

The city's strength is the excellent transport infrastructure and the urban environment, which enable workplaces near home. It is also suitable for establishing enterprises such as the aerospace industry because of the Komaki South Plant of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the Mitsubishi Regional Jet's (MRJ) final assembly factory, and the aviation experiment base of JAXA located in neighboring areas.

Kitanagoya City is adjacent to Nagoya City, which is the center of all industries in Aichi Prefecture. With a well-developed network of major arterial roads ensuring highly efficient transportation and convenient access to public transit, it is also suitable for securing human resources for establishing businesses. On the other hand, with major automotive industries in Aichi Prefecture concentrated in the Mikawa region, it can be instrumental in diversifying operational locations when reconsidering BCPs. It has an advantage in avoiding tsunami disasters.

Kitanagoya City is only 10 km away from the Nagoya City center, but its land value is half that of Nagoya City. Therefore, it has attractive locations for establishing laboratories and factories.
It has a geographical advantage with easy access to Meishin Expressway, Tomei Expressway, Nagoya Expressway, Nagoya-daini-Kanjo Expressway via the National Route 22 from the city.
Being in an inland part of Aichi Prefecture, the area is unlikely to be hit by a tsunami at the time of a wide-scale disaster.
