Edulis' innovative endoscopic drug delivery system is the first of its kind to allow physicians to insert a long-term, localized drug depot in the lining of a patient's gut. These drug implants can be inserted in under 10 minutes during a routine endoscopy exam and can deliver medication to the surrounding tissue for up to 12 months. The implants are fully bioresorbable and do not require retrieval. The objective to make existing small molecule medications safer and more effective with targeted delivery as well as enable new medications in the gut which were previously limited due to features like gastric intolerance, diffusivity, and systemic exposure.
