Summay of notice | 6 Summary (1) Classification of the products to be procured : 14 (2) Nature and quantity of theproducts to be rent : Computer Systems for Research and Education(Information Science Center) 1 Set (3) Type of the procurement : Rent (4) Basic requirements of theprocurement : (A1) Kyushu Institute ofTechnology which encompasses all branches of engineering consists of three campuses distributedgeographically ; Tobata Campus (the Faculty of Engineering), IizukaCampus (the Faculty of Computer Science and Systems Engineering),and Wakamatsu Campus (the Graduate School of Life Science andSystems). The target system should be installed mainly in Tobata andIizuka Campus, and should serve for education and research forstudents and researchers. The system must be composed of thefollowing 6 subsystems : the computer subsystem for education of the Faculty of Engineering, thecomputer subsystem for education of the Faculty of Computer Scienceand Systems Engineering, the computer subsystem for supportingICT education, the subsystem for IT infrastructure, the identitymanagement subsystem, and the computer subsystem forsystem/network administration and operation. (A2) Both of the computersubsystems for education of two faculties should be basicallyequivalent, and should consist of terminal computers which are thefront end for students and high performance servers. Thesecomputers and servers should be connected to each other throughhigh-speed networks, should provide all the students with the sameenvironment through any terminal compute and with good performanceeven when all terminal computers are used at the same time. Thesubsystems should serve for basic education of information processing (including programming andinformation literacy) for freshmen and sophomores of the bothfaculties, advanced education of applying information for junior and senior classes of the faculty ofengineering, and study of all graduate and undergraduate students by themselves during the rest ofclasses (about 7,000 users). The target system should be suitablefor education and learning. (A3) The computer subsystem forsupporting ICT education should consist of LMS (Learning Management System) and a system to distribute teaching materials which haveabilities to deal with all classes in Kyushu Institute of Technology, and should have the abilities to preserve and manage teachingmaterials, students' activities and learning records safely during acertain period. (A4) The subsystem for ITinfrastructure should consist of virtual infrastructure managers, high performance servers, storage, and networks which provide ITinfrastructural functions to the other subsystems and other commoncomputer systems in Kyushu Institute of Technology. (A5) The identity managementsubsystem should be able to input, output and manage various userinformation for all the system users, that is, user accountinformation including user IDs and passwords, user attributesincluding access authority and access logs. The user informationdatabase should have compatibility and the extendibility during thefuture. The subsystem should also have the ability to provide unitedID management service that consists of various directory services andauthentication services for the other subsystems and the otherinformation systems in Kyushu Institute of Technology. (A6) The target system shouldhave the abilities to manage access permissions of computer resourcesaccording to users' group. (A7) The target system should bean open system which can be connected easily to other computersystems inside/outside Kyushu Institute of Technology, and should be able to endure security threats from the outside. (A8) The computer subsystem forsystem/network administration and operation should administrate andoperate other subsystems, and should have the administrationabilities to cooperate with other common computer systems in KyushuInstitute of Technology. (A9) Energy saving, laborsaving, and space saving should be considered from the viewpoint ofmanagement and operation of the target system. (B0) The target system should bestable, and should provide functions of dealing with a trouble situation quickly and locally.
