[Webinar] Life Sciences Opportunities in Japan

On October 25 at 10:30 am (EDT), JETRO Toronto and Ontario's Ministry of International Trade hosted a webinar on life sciences opportunities in Japan.

Japan is the world’s 3rd largest medical market with imported medical devices accounting for 49% of this market. In Japan’s Super Aging Society, the number of people in Japan over 65 is about 25% of the population and will reach nearly 39 % by 2050. To combat the expected rise in healthcare costs, Japan has reduced approval times to get medical products into the Japanese market including a fast-track approval process for innovative medical devices which came into effect on July 31, 2017.

The Ontario government and JETRO was hosting this webinar to provide information on how foreign companies can take advantage of these opportunities in Japan’s healthcare market, focusing on medical devices and healthcare IT sectors. In addition, there was explanation about the up-coming Ontario Life Sciences Mission to Medical Japan 2018 (for more info) as well as export assistance provided by the Ontario Government and investment support provided by JETRO.
