About Us
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958, it has a wide network in Japan (JETRO Headquarters Tokyo, Institute of Developing Economies, Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO), 6 regional head offices, 48 offices, and 1 branch) as well as overseas (76 offices in 56 countries as of January 2026).
JETRO Geneva provides support to those who are looking to develop Swiss-Japanese business links in the fields of trade and investment. Our office was established in 1971 and covers both Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Our mission:
- Promote investment in Japan
- Support collaboration between Swiss and Japanese companies for open innovation
- Support Japanese companies to internationalize their business
- Research on the Swiss market for Japanese companies
- Research on standardization
