About Us

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958, it has a wide network in Japan (JETRO Headquarters Tokyo, Institute of Developing Economies, Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO), 6 regional head offices, 48 offices, and 1 branch) as well as overseas (76 offices in 56 countries as of January 2026). 



JETRO Geneva provides support to those who are looking to develop Swiss-Japanese business links in the fields of trade and investment. Our office was established in 1971 and covers both Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Our mission:

  2. Support collaboration between Swiss and Japanese companies for open innovation
  3. Support Japanese companies to internationalize their business
  4. Research on the Swiss market for Japanese companies 
  5. Research on standardization
