高速・高精度な組み立て作業を行うSCARA（Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm）ロボットは、水平面上で左右に高速で転回しながら、上下方向に精密・高速に動いてピッキング作業や、はめ込み作業を行う。この上下に動くZ軸の可動部への細かいゴミが付着すると故障につながるため、その可動部を保護する蛇腹がついている。Eclore Actuatorsは、材質に工夫を凝らしたポリマーを、日本の折り紙に発想を得た継ぎ目のない一体構造で折りたたんだ保護蛇腹を独自考案した。継ぎ目がないことから通常品に比べて5倍の動作摩耗耐久性を持ち、防水性も高い。工夫された材質の採用で酸・アルカリ・油等の過酷環境下での対劣化性能が大幅に向上している。また、洗浄性が高く、FDAに準拠しており、食品・医薬品向けの現場への適用で有利になる。半導体製造のクリーンルーム内のロボットにも適用できる。当社の保護蛇腹をSCARAロボットに適用することでメンテナンスの効率が上がり、稼働率・生産性の向上、ランニングコストの低減が実現できる。

SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robots, which perform high speed and high precision assembly operations, rotate rapidly on the horizontal plane while moving vertically with high speed and accuracy to carry out tasks such as picking and insertion. Because fine debris adhering to the moving parts of the vertically actuated Z axis can cause malfunctions, these components are protected by bellows. Eclore Actuators has uniquely developed protective bellows made from a specially engineered polymer, folded into a seamless, one piece structure inspired by Japanese origami. Thanks to the seamless structure, the bellows offer five times the wear resistance of conventional products. The special polymer material significantly improves resistance to degradation in harsh environments involving acids, oils and other chemicals. By applying Eclore’s bellows to SCARA robots, maintenance efficiency can be improved, enabling higher equipment uptime and reduced operating costs.
