READi Robust Machine is a green tech company founded in South Korea in 2021. By providing retrofit fuel-efficiency solutions that can be installed on existing heavy equipment, the company aims to improve fuel efficiency, reduce customers’ on-site operating costs, and contribute to lowering environmental impact. The company provides a solution that retrofits its proprietary hydraulic energy recovery system onto existing hydraulic-powered heavy equipment such as excavators, reusing the recovered energy to assist boom lifting while simultaneously reducing engine load. Through this approach, the solution improves the overall fuel efficiency of the machine, and depending on operating conditions, fuel consumption reductions of around 20–30% may be expected.

READi Robust Machine also offers an electrification solution that combines an electric motor-driven hydraulic pump system with its hydraulic energy recovery technology and optimizes power usage through software control. By converting heavy equipment to wired electric operation, total energy costs can be reduced further. In high-utilization sites such as scrap plants, construction waste recycling plants, and cement companies, the company has also received customer feedback indicating that, compared with conventional diesel excavators, operating costs improved by approximately 60% on an electricity-cost basis in some cases. These characteristics suggest that electrification investment may be recovered relatively quickly while also contributing to decarbonization.

The company is pursuing a strategy of entering the Japanese market through proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with Japanese firms, and is currently engaged in concrete discussions with companies in Aichi and Osaka. In Aichi Prefecture in particular, a PoC project with a Japanese company is already underway. To expand its business in Japan and strengthen its customer support structure, the company established a Japanese subsidiary.

In establishing its Japanese subsidiary, READi Robust Machine Co., Ltd., JETRO’s Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC), together with the JETRO Nagoya Trade Information Center, provided support including introductions to administrative scriveners, tax accountants, social insurance and labor consultants, banks, the Aichi Industry Promotion Organization, and Station Ai, as well as the provision of information on relevant systems and programs.
