Business Expanding Rane Group, a Provider of Automotive Steering Systems, Establishes an Office in Osaka

Headquartered in Chennai, India, Rane Group is a leading manufacturer of safety critical automotive components, including steering systems, suspension systems, engine components, brake parts, occupant safety systems and light metal castings. The Group serves a diverse range of industry segments, including Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Farm Tractors, Two-wheelers, Three-wheelers, Railways and Stationary Engines. The company operates 33 plants mainly in India and serves more than 30 countries worldwide and leverages technical collaborations with Japanese and German manufacturers to deliver high-quality products to the automotive industry.

To strengthen its relationships with Japanese car manufacturers and Tier 1 manufacturers, expand collaboration with Japanese suppliers, identify suppliers interested in entering the Indian market, and explore potential future joint ventures and technology licensing partnerships, the company established its Japanese branch in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, in April 2026. In connection with the establishment of its Japanese base, JETRO Chennai identified the project through consultations with the company, while JETRO Osaka primarily supported the company's business establishment activities in Japan. Through the provision of information on subsidy programs and tax incentive schemes, as well as introductions to banks and service providers, JETRO helped facilitate the launch of the company's Kansai operations.

Going forward, the company plans to use its Osaka office to strengthen business with existing customers, develop new customers, and build relationships with Japanese suppliers. Through technical collaboration with Japanese companies and partnerships targeting the Indian market, the company is expected to create new business opportunities with Japanese automotive parts manufacturers and deepen industrial cooperation with the Kansai region.
