Founded in 2020 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, Asia Pathogenomics Co., Ltd. is a biotechnology company that provides pathogen genetic testing services focused on infectious diseases. As an early provider of clinical metagenomic diagnostic services, the company leverages metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) technology, together with its proprietary pathogen database and bioinformatics analysis platform, to comprehensively identify pathogens that are difficult to detect using conventional methods (such as culture-based methods, PCR testing, etc.). By delivering analytical results within 24 to 48 hours, the company supports rapid and highly accurate diagnosis as well as timely clinical decision-making and treatment planning.

To strengthen its business foundation in the Japanese market, the company established APG Asia Pathogenomics Japan Co., Ltd. in May 2025. It subsequently relocated its operations to LINK-J (Life Science Innovation Network Japan) in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, further accelerating its business development in Japan.

The Japanese subsidiary serves as a strategic base for promoting the adoption and practical implementation of the company’s technologies in Japan, while also fostering collaboration with medical institutions, clinical laboratories, research organizations, and industry partners.

During the establishment of the Japanese entity, the Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) of JETRO provided comprehensive support, including information on office locations and recruitment agencies, expert consultation services, and public relations assistance.

Looking ahead, the company aims to accelerate the adoption of mNGS technology in the field of infectious disease diagnostics in Japan. It plans to advance collaborative clinical studies and demonstration projects with healthcare institutions while pursuing business development initiatives aligned with Japanese regulatory requirements and future reimbursement opportunities under the national health insurance system.
