Business Expanding KREATiS, an AI-Driven Chemical Risk Assessment Company, Establishes Office in Chuo-ku, Tokyo

KREATiS is a research-driven company founded in 2014 in the greater Lyon area, France, specializing in the in silico (computer-based) evaluation of chemical safety. Leveraging computational models such as QSAR about the evaluation of chemical materials by OECD, the company provides highly accurate predictive technologies as alternatives to animal testing. Centered around its proprietary platform iSafeRat®, KREATiS offers the Regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH)regulatory support, R&D assistance, regulatory data generation, and professional training. By integrating consulting, research, and education, the company enhances both the efficiency of regulatory compliance and the sophistication of safety assessments. With a strong track record in European regulations, high scientific reliability, and contributions to the 3Rs (replacement of animal testing), KREATiS is helping to lead the next generation of safety evaluation.

As the first step in its full-scale expansion into the Asia-Pacific market, the company established its Japanese subsidiary, KREATiS Japan K.K., in Chuo, Tokyo, in April 2026. In entering the Japanese market, JETRO’s Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided comprehensive assistance, including consultations on company registration, tax, and labor matters, referrals to service providers, and PR support.

KREATiS’s entry into Japan is expected to have significant impact by improving the efficiency of chemical safety assessment and regulatory compliance for users in Japan. In particular, the use of in silico technologies enables the preparation of data required for overseas regulations such as REACH in shorter timeframes and at lower cost. In addition, the adoption of non-animal testing approaches contributes to faster R&D processes and advances the 3Rs. Furthermore, through the transfer of expertise in European regulations and the provision of training, the company is expected to contribute to the development of specialized talent and the strengthening of Japan’s technological foundation.

Going forward, KREATiS plans to expand its presence and customer base in Japan primarily through participation in academic conferences, targeting researchers and industry experts for its business development activities.
