UrbanChain Group Limited, established in Hong Kong in 2018, develops and provides full-service parking sharing solutions utilizing AIoT technology. By leveraging proprietary algorithms and advanced technologies, the company offers drivers an app-based service for searching, reserving, and paying for parking spaces. At the same time, it provides parking lot operators with space management solutions using AI-powered image recognition cameras.

To support its proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives and business development already underway in the Chubu region, the company established its Japanese subsidiary, UrbanChain Group K.K., in Nagoya, Aichi, in October 2023. Currently the company is in business negotiations with Japanese firms and is actively expanding its business in Japan. Through its entry into the Japanese market, UrbanChain aims to enhance the efficiency of existing urban infrastructure, reduce parking management costs, and contribute to the broader adoption of smart city solutions and improved economic productivity.

In expanding its operations in Japan, JETRO’s Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided consultation on company registration, taxation, and labor matters, arranged meetings with academia-government-industry organizations, and supported public relations efforts.
