Business ExpandingAIRS Medical, a Korean startup who develops an AI-based MRI image reconstruction software that reduces scanning time and improves image quality at the same time, enters the Japanese market

AIRS Medical Inc. is a Korean startup established in Korea in 2018. The company develops an AI-based deep learning software to improve the quality of MRI images which can also result in reduced scanning time of MRI exams

Their main product is an AI-based software which improves MRI image quality by reducing noise and increasing resolution. The software provides high signal-to-noise ratio and high-resolution images, thanks to which the scanning time can be reduced by up to 50% compared to conventional scans. Also, it is highly versatile as it is a highly versatile and vendor-neutral software that is compatible with any MRI scanner and any pulse sequence. The company has been selected as "one of the unicorn candidates" by the Korean government, and to date, they have successfully raised over 50 billion KRW in funding. In order to provide their solution to medical facilities in Japan, they established "AIRS Medical Japan G.K." in June 2024.

In the company setting up its Japanese subsidiary, JETRO’'s Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) assisted it in providing business matchings and offering consultations on registration.
