IPG Photonics is a global fiber laser technology company developing high-performance laser solutions for all industrial applications. With the product line ranging from individual packaged diodes to the industry's broadest range of fiber laser sources, beam delivery and turnkey laser systems, the company designs and manufactures everything needed to implement world-class laser solutions for any industry or application. By providing manufacturers with reliable and energy-efficient tools, it contributes to their improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing productivity.
Fiber lasers are used for welding, cutting and marking, and can process aluminum, copper, brass, etc. Compared to CO2 and YAG lasers, fiber lasers consume less power and require less space because the chiller (cooling system) can be made smaller. In addition, laser processing machines have previously been treated as precision machinery and required high maintenance costs, while fiber lasers have a high utilization rate due to the simplicity of their structures.

Chubu Technical Center opened in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture
The Chubu Technical Center, that has opened in response to the business expansion of the Japanese subsidiary, is equipped with 14 lab rooms for customer use, which allows its customers to have more opportunities to use actually its products and evaluate their performance before purchasing. In addition to automotive companies and machine tool manufacturers, the company is also looking to expand its business into the medical and food sectors.
To assist with setting up the company's new base, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided it with information on real estate properties and incentives, as well as opportunities to participate in events and PR support.
