Cell Impact ABExternal site: a new window will open. was established in 1999 with its headquarters in Sweden. Cell Impact is a global supplier of advanced flow plates (*) to fuel cell manufacturers. The company has developed and patented a unique method for high-velocity forming, Cell Impact Forming™, which makes it possible to produce flow plates with more advanced designs compared to conventional forming methods, contributing to the development of more cost- and energy-efficient fuel cells.

    Flow plates: A plate-shaped component that is placed between each cell of a fuel cell and serves to block fuel gas and air. It creates a flow path for the gas to flow through each cell and fuel gas and air are fed along the path.

Cell Impact has been conducting flow plate customer development projects in Japan, an important market for fuel cells and electrolyzers, for several years and established Cell Impact Japan K.K. in Tokyo in February 2021. Recently, the company announced that it will install a flow plate forming line of Cell Impact Forming™ in cooperation with F.C.C. Co., Ltd., an automotive parts supplier, at the F.C.C. site in Hamamatsu City. The production line is scheduled to begin operation this autumn.
