Headquartered in the Netherlands, Sif was established in 1948 and currently specializes in the production of monopiles and transition pieces, which are the foundation for offshore wind turbines. As one of the world's leading manufacturers, Sif has manufactured over 2,000 monopiles since its first monopile delivery in 2002 and boasts one of the largest market shares in the world. In Europe, the leading region in the offshore wind energy sector, about 30-40% of the installed offshore wind farms use the company’s monopiles. In addition, the company both uses welding technology it developed in-house and applies product innovation and developments such as the Slipjoint connection and the “Skybox”. Thanks to its unique expertise and craftmanship, the company is able to produce large diameter monopiles with a diameter over 9 meters, contributing to acceleration of wind energy development.

Japan is in the early stages of the application of offshore wind energy, and no Japanese company manufactures and sells basic structures for offshore wind energy fields like Sif. For this reason, Sif Japan was established in Tokyo in June 2020 – starting as a sales and business development team. The Japanese subsidiary will market Sif’s products and explore further expansion of business activity in Japan.
