LumApps is a French company that develops software platforms for building corporate intranets. Its applications are recommended for G Suite, Google's groupware service, and Microsoft Office365, providing easy integrations with these existing systems and the business chat tool Slack. The company's product is the only intranet application officially recommended for G Suite. It has been implemented by 350 companies and more than 4 million users worldwide.
The company's platforms are cloud-based, enabling employees to access the intranet anywhere using the mobile app. One can change the layout and submit posts easily without knowing HTML. In addition to stylish designs, it facilitates employees to communicate through "likes!" and comment functions. From the intranet managers' perspectives, they can select and send out targeted information based on employees' profiles, analyze the number of posts on the intranet by employees, their interests, frequency of use, trends in interaction with other employees, and take measures to improve access to content. The company provides solutions to improve information sharing and interaction among employees to meet the demand from the ongoing work style reforms and the increasing popularity of telework due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
In January 2020, the company raised 70 million dollars in the Series C round funding from Goldman Sachs, ID Invest Partners, and French public investment bank BPI France etc., to focus on R&D related to AI and machine-learning and expansion overseas.
In October 2019, the company established LumApps KK in Tokyo to provide sales, engineering support, marketing, and other services. Currently, the company has an office in Shibuya Ward.
Upon establishing the company in Japan, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided information on the market and regulations and arranged meetings with the local government.
