Wolt Enterprises Oy was founded in 2014 in Finland. Wolt is a startup company that provides food delivery service already in 22 countries. Miki Kuusi, the company's co-founder & CEO, is also the founder of SLUSH*.

Select a restaurant through a dedicated app and order your food. The meal usually arrives in about 30 minutes or less. The service is characterized by delivery efficiency based on industry-leading algorithms and high-quality services that supports users, restaurants, and delivery partners by establishing local customer support.

Wolt Japan Inc. was established in October 2019 in Tokyo with the aim of expanding its services in Japan. On March 26, 2020, the service was launched in Hiroshima City, the first city in Japan and also in Asia to enter the market.

To assist with the establishment of its base in Japan, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided temporary office space and information.
