By applying neuromorphic engineering technology, it has made possible the practical use of sensors that revolutionize machine vision*. This technology is an event-driven sensor based on the principle of the optical and cerebral nerves that detect changes, rather than still parts, when it senses movement. The company’s sensor and camera system can be applied in various fields including autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, IoT, security and surveillance and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The company is broadening the potential of machine vision by significantly improving its speed, reliability and efficiency through a model capable of a wide range of usage.

In Japan, Prophesee appointed Okaya Electronics Corp as well as Restar Electronics Corporation as distributors to expand sales channels. It established Prophesee LLC in Tokyo in February 2019 to further expand business and provide local support in Japan.

To assist with the establishment of the company’s base in Japan, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided consultation on company registration. The IBSC also provided business matching and referred a municipal government and local service providers (a tax accountant and real estate agency).
