Naskeo Environment isa company based in France providing biogas-related technology. It was founded in 2005 by four engineers with aspirations to popularize biogas, and primarily provides processing technology for livestock manure and residue from the food and agricultural industries. The company provides effective utilization solutions that suit customer needs for power generation, gas purification, compressed gas and private consumption through methane fermentation.

Through a “one-stop shop” that covers all relevant technologies for biogas, Naskeo’s services span the full spectrum from research and development to design, construction, operation and maintenance. By converting organic waste into renewable energy, the innovative technology of the company (wet process and dry batch process) greatly contributes to the prevention of environmental pollution.

Naskeo generated a turnover of 13 million euros (approximately 1.7 billion yen) in 2017 and has grown to become the leader of the French biogas market. Seventy-five percent of its 40 employees are engineers who have completed specialized courses and the company’s resume includes more than 150 business plan surveys and 40 turnkey installations (a total of 50kWel to 3.2MWel currently in operation).

In Japan, the company has been engaged in biogas power generation in partnership with local companies in Tsurui Village, Hokkaido. NASKEO KANKYÔ KK was established in Hokkaido in April 2019 to expand business further on a long term perspective.

To assist with the establishment of the company’s base in Japan, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided consultation on registration, visa, tax and construction matters. It also introduced municipal governments and business associations, information on the market and regulations, and service providers (an administrative scrivener, a tax accountant, certified social insurance labor consultants, banks and a service office).
