Wera Werkzeuge GmbH is a manufacturer specialized in tools established in 1936, headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany. The grips for the company’s tools such as screwdrivers, ratchet, wrench and click torque wrench feature unique ergonomic designs that match the shape of the hand. With its excellent easy-to-hold, aesthetic designs and durability, it has earned high evaluation also from Japanese customers and acquired patents. In addition to having subsidiaries in countries like the United Kingdom and Canada, Wera Werkzeuge also conducts sales through distributors in Asia, such as in Japan and China.

The company established a joint company, Wera Tools Japan, in Tokyo in March 2018.Through sales support to Japanese distributors, it aims to strengthen its presence in Japan and expand sales channels. Further, hereafter the Japanese corporation plans to have its Japanese corporation cover business operations for all of Asia, in addition to Japan.

For the establishment of its Japanese base, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided temporary office space; consultation on registration, taxation and labor matters; and introduced service providers (real estate agency, judicial scrivener’s office and accounting firm).
