Invest Japan Symposiums Held This October in Washington, D.C. and Miami

On October 24th and 25th, JETRO, together with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the US Department of State, held Invest Japan Symposiums in Washington, D.C. and Miami under the theme, "Creating Value Through Innovation".

Representatives from US firms already operating in Japan's service or ICT markets shared their views on the country as an investment destination, and firms preparing to enter the Japan market examined the importance of tying up with a Japanese partner and utilizing available market information.

Some key points to emerge were:
(1) Quality is a must requirement in the Japanese market; it is important to add value to products or services through innovation.
(2) The Japanese market is not easy to enter, but once firms build trust among customers it pays high dividends.
(3) Japan's regions offer clear business opportunities, in terms of economy size and presence of industrial clusters.
