Summay of notice | 6 Summary (1) Classification of the products to be procured : 14 (2) Nature and quantity of theproducts to be rent : Campus-wide computer system 1 Set (3) Type of the procurement : Rent (4) Basic requirements of theprocurement : A The computer system is procured for use in information-relatedclasses in undergraduate and master's course education programs. The system also provides generalinformation infrastructure for making reports, informationsearching, e-mails, and other purposes. To achieve this goal, itshould consist of about 1000 terminals. B The system must havefundamental softwares for basic information related education andfor the general information infrastructure to all undergraduate students. And also it must havevariety of softwares for professional education. Thus itmust have the functions to manage licences efficiently with minimumnumber of licences. C The system contains thefollowing : Virtual servers are expected, some of which could beprovided by cloud services. a massive capacity disk systemand the back-up system, b mail server, c basic infrastructure servers, d servers needed for managingthe system. D The system must have enoughefficiency to ensure smooth operation when terminals arestarted and logged in at once in multiple classes. E All students must be identified by user IDs in this system. Theauthentication in this system must collaborate with University ofTsukuba Unified Authentication System. F The terminal must have enoughability for processing multimedia data, like audio, video andgraphics. G The boot images for terminalsmust be managed in an integrated fashion. And also the system musthave an ability to test the system change before the practice use, and to configure to set a specialsetting for a group of terminals. The system must have a function tomanage multiple boot images easily. H On-demand printing must beserved. A printing is executed after user operation on the printer or its external terminal nearby.Counting of printouts for each user must be provided with weighting by color or monochrome printing. Theupper limit setting for each user must be supported. I The system must be designed aspower-saving and space-saving. J The software we already havethe licenses must be installed on the system and checked to workcorrectly. K Since the system must operate24 hours a day, the system supplier must organize the proceduresresponsible for prompt and perfect system maintenance to handle system failures. The system failures must not interfere with the classes. L The system must have high level security, especially for threat on network. M In order to support lectures,the new software required by some teachers can be installed duringthe rental term as a work of system maintenance. N The system supplier mustsufficiently support the university during and after the systeminstallation. O The system supplier mustmigrate data from the current system. P The system must have thefunctions and structures that can minimize management/operation cost.
