Chairman Ishiguro Attends “Central Asia + Japan” Business Forum, Unveils Three Cooperation Memorandums

On August 9, JETRO Chairman and CEO Ishiguro Norihiko attended the “Central Asia + Japan” Business Forum (hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS (ROTOBO), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Invest) in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
At the forum, a ceremony was held to unveil memorandums of cooperation signed between organizations in Japan and Central Asian countries. JETRO presented three documents that were signed in conjunction with the forum: a memorandum of cooperation with the Export Development and Promotion Center “Kyrgyz Export” under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyz Republic; the “Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding on the Organization of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Participation in the World EXPO 2025 in Osaka” between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Kyrgyz High Technology Park, and the Knowledge Capital Association, and a memorandum of cooperation that was concluded in March with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.

On the 9th, Chairman Ishiguro met with Begench Gochmollayev, Turkmenistan's Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and on the 10th with Kyrgyz Export Director Urmat Takirov, and Kyrgyz National Investment Agency Deputy Director Zhalyn Zheenaliev, Kyrgyz High Technology Park Director Azis Abakirov, respectively, and discussed future cooperation.
