The human brain can be described as a huge, mesh-like "graph network" consisting of 100 billion nodes (brain cells) and 700 trillion edges (brain neural circuits). This graph represents four major brain functions: memory, observation, judgment and perceptual / abstract reasoning, and strategy.

Current mainstream machine learning and deep learning use only part of brain functions, making it difficult to analyze large-scale data in parallel and also requiring to develop models for each data attribute, which poses challenges such as the impact on accuracy, and the black-box nature and explainability of judgments.

The trend in future AI will be to replicate the mechanisms of the human brain and apply intelligence-related knowledge, and in anticipation of this trend, the company has developed "Ardi," an AI platform with enhanced graph functions that fully mimic the brain functions. The graph function enables to find meaning and associations or complex relationships of large-scale data within the same model and to provide highly accurate inference function to establish causal relationships and predictions, as well as visibility and explainability of judgments.

The company's technology and solutions have been highly praised in many areas through its participation in the exhibition after selected for the Japan Mobility Show 2023 Startup Program by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, its participation in Fintech-related events in Asia including Japan after selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the publication of the company's paper "In silico prediction of immune-escaping hot spots for future COVID-19 vaccine design" in the world-renowned scientific journal Nature (August 2023 issue).

The company has branches in Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Singapore and has established a Japanese subsidiary, Graphen Japan Co., Ltd., with the aim of contributing to Japanese companies and expanding its business in the Japanese market. It plans to further strengthen partnerships with Japanese companies, research institutes, universities, etc., and actively seek to develop new customers.

To assist with setting up the company's Japanese subsidiary, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided information on systems, consultation (registration and tax), introduction of service providers, and assistance in business matching.
