Based in mountainous central Japan, KIKUSUI BREWERY manufactures and sells Japanese sake made using locally produced quality water and rice, with full natural taste of Shinshu area. Since its founding in 1944, our business has continued to grow steadily, expanding market share across Japan and winning numerous sake awards, including the “Best Sake to Serve in a Wine Glass Award,” which suggests taste and flavor agreeable to palates around the world in addition to those of Japanese sake lovers. Centering on these products, we are planning to advance into overseas markets, seeking to achieve continued growth. We have decided to start with Thailand, Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, and are beginning to prepare internal formation to approach these targets. Thus, we are looking for suitable people from around the world to work with us to promote this plan successfully.

KIKUSUI is primarily a traditional sake brand. It boasts a broad lineup of different types of sake, ranging from the highest-grade Daiginjo, the choice for special occasions, to affordable products for everyday consumption. This is related to our role as the only brewer in our local region: to provide various categories of sake to be able to meet different local consumption needs and to purchase as raw materials dedicated sake rice varieties cultivated under contract by local farmers in an effort to incorporate local tastes and values into our production. At the same time, we also produce many categories of alcoholic beverages other than sake, sourcing quality materials from a wealth of local production sites. Our non-sake lineup includes: shochu (Japanese distilled spirit) based on sweet potatoes, regular potatoes and buckwheat; dry apple cider; and fruit liqueur varieties based on peach, blueberry and Japanese plum, among others.
