Pursuing Advanced Materials and Energy through sustainability

Message from Leadership

Kraisri Phankitnirundon, Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Sustainability

Plastic serves as a synthetic material that significantly enhances the quality of human life, addressing the limitations of natural materials in various fields such as medicine, architecture, and more. While acknowledging the undeniable benefits of plastic, it is imperative for us to confront its drawbacks, including the carbon footprint associated with production and the environmental issue of plastic waste. Consequently, we must actively seek climate-friendly technologies to foster the development of sustainable materials. This pursuit aligns with the core objective of our startup company: to generate innovative ideas and solutions for a greener future. IRPC also emphasizes on decarbonization and circular business to reduce GHG emission from own operation and throughout supply chain, Moreover , we see opportunities in Li recycle business as Global EV market is expanding and end of life EV battery will increase significantly in the future.

IRPC’s Challenge

  1. Enhancing the Percentage of Bio-based Content in Polyethylene (PE) Film for Food Contact Applications
  2. Creating Sustainable Feedstock for Conventional Petrochemical-based products with GHG emission reduction
  3. Recovery of Li Active Material from used Li battery can be re-used in new Li battery
Challenges
Enhancing the Percentage of Bio-based Content in Polyethylene (PE) Film for Food Contact Applications
How can we establish a formulation for incorporating bio-based materials (such as wood particles) into the polyethylene film matrix, achieving a content level of 20% or higher?
How can we achieve transparency in the final product by eliminating the color of bio-based PE, thus creating a transparent film?
How can we develop a sustainable formulation for incorporating bio-based content into PE film while ensuring its suitability for food contact applications?
Can the bio-based PE film be effectively recycled, either as injection-grade or film-grade material?
Creating Sustainable Feedstock for Conventional Petrochemical-based products with GHG emission reduction
The needs for GHG emission reduction is playing a vital role in Petrochemical Products. Chemical Recycling will be one of the way to provide Green and Sustainable feedstock but it cannot reduce GHG emission because it require high burning temperature.
Recovery of Li Active Material from used Li battery can be re-used in new Li battery
The Li active material recycle process is very important to create sustainable and minimize the usage of Li for new Li battery
Collaboration Needs
Solution 1.
Develop technology to create new formulations by blending agricultural materials into the PE film matrix, resulting in a green product with a bio-based content of 20% or higher.
Explore solutions to enhance agricultural particles for blending with polyethylene film, enabling the production of transparent film goods.
Research and develop all necessary raw materials, chemicals, and additives for formulating bio-based PE film suitable for food contact applications as well as recycling system.
Solution 2.
Start up who will be able to develop Advance Material which can relent heat and reduce burning temperature, accelerate the process and cut GHG emission.
Solution 3.
Start up who will be able to develop Advance Material which can recovery Li active material from used Li battery.
Opportunity
