J-StarX Program Toronto: Logistics and Mobility

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has launched the“J-StarX Program (Toronto: Logistics and Mobility)” (hereinafter “Program”), that aims to connect technologies wielding Japanese startups with relevant organizations and corporates in Canada to contribute them exploring the potential solutions toward the challenges that they are trying to tackle.
JETRO will partner with a contractor, who has a capacity to provide Japanese startups with introduction sessions to the Canadian market, workshops, and mentoring, as well as networking and engaging opportunities with key organizations, corporates, and investors.

| INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS |
1. Qualification Requirement 1) Prospective candidate(s) engaged in the project must satisfy conditions stated in the Application Guidelines (Attachment 1) 2) NOT under the circumstances of being denied participation due to unethical and/or unlawful activities by either JETRO previous procurement offerings. 3) Prospective candidate(s) must meet the following minimum specification: - Incubator, Accelerator or any other related organization based in Canada - Experience working with international startups - Adaptability and flexibility to various markets 4) In addition, Prospective candidate(s) will be evaluated by the following preferred specifications: - Program implementation skill - Wide, various, open mentor network which matches the Program 2. Preparation of Application No oral, telephone, or facsimile will be accepted for any inquiries regarding the Program and the application submission. All costs of preparation shall be borne by the Applicants.
A) Implementation details of each phase (See the Application Guidelines, Attachment 1) Phase 0: Program Promotion and Participants selection Phase 2: Bootcamp (Online and in Japan) Phase 3: Online program Phase 4: Program in Canada / Follow-up The followings shall be described in the proposal: - Mentor assignment process - Implementation structure (arrangement of personnel in charge / each responsibility) - Operating procedure, method, proposal on how to complete all the tasks of the project in an effective manner and enhance project outcome. B) Experience and Capabilities of the Organization - Experiences to implement and execute similar programs - Networking and information gathering skills to enhance project outcomes - System to manage personal/confidential information
- Mentor network list with mentor profiles - Profiles of assigned personnels - Sector experience - Strong connection to relevant industrial associations, Canadian innovation ecosystem players, corporates, investors, and universities

Please include your scheduled availability at 8:00am - 9:00am (EST) / 7:00pm-8:00pm (EST) on June 19 - 25 in the Application Form. The call will include staffs from JETRO Toronto and JETRO Tokyo. The detailed schedule for the presentation will be notified to the applicants who pass the 1st evaluation.
Evaluation criteria is indicated in Attachment 3.
1 (one) partner will be selected.
