Smart Manufacturing Collaboration

 

Malaysia and Japan are set to increase collaboration on smart manufacturing to assist Malaysian manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in adopting smart manufacturing technologies from Japan. 


Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Kuala Lumpur, together with SIRIM Berhad , have been collaborating to support the introduction of Japanese smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0-related technologies to local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector since 2019.  Following the launching of the Industry4WRD National Policy on 31st October 2018, the Malaysia-Japan Collaboration on Smart Manufacturing was officiated on 2nd May 2019 in collaboration with MITI, MIDA, EOJ and JACTIM. 


The collaboration consists of 3 phases, stemming from educating and creating awareness among the local SMEs on smart manufacturing concept, to business matchings and the creation of success use cases, and finally to creating a sustainable platform for all future business matching opportunities among local SMEs and the Japanese solution providers.
