Smart Manufacturing Collaboration : Phase 2


Phase 2 is aimed at creating success use cases of work process improvement post-implementation of Japanese Industry4.0 solutions. 

  

Two online business matching workshops were conducted under Phase 2, held a year apart due to the global pandemic.  

  

<Workshop 1.0> 

For the first workshop conducted on 25 March 2021, four Japanese solution providers, namely Hitachi Asia (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., KDDI Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Mitsubishi Electric Sales Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. And NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and 17 local SMEs from various manufacturing industries participated in the workshop. These local SMEs, which have already applied and received their respective Industry4WRD Readiness Assessment (RA) reports, have indicated interests in adopting Japanese technologies from the 4 Japanese solution providers. Altogether, 27 one-to-one business matching sessions were concluded. 


<Workshop 2.0> 

Following the success of the first workshop, a second workshop was conducted online on 9 March 2022. This second workshop is also recognized by the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia as one of the events that commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Look East Policy. 

  

This time round, seven Japanese solution providers participated in the second workshop, namely Fujitsu (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Hitachi Asia (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., KDDI Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Mitsubishi Electric Sales Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Murata Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., And Yokogawa Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.  

  

Eight local SMEs from various manufacturing industries joined the one-day workshop where 21 one-to-one business matching sessions were concluded.
