We produce valuable proteins from wheat germs. We are expanding the business to the east and west coasts of the United States, where wheat is produced, in an effort to reduce raw material procurement costs and logistic costs. We currently do not have foreign employees, but because the overseas cultured meat market is more developed than in Japan, we will have Highly-Skilled Foreign Professionals engage in promoting our business. Last year, we hired a foreign national as an intern for 3 months and are working on creating a comfortable environment for foreign employees. You must have the skills such as synthesizing recombinant protein like enzymes using E. coli, designing templates and primers, translating using wheat germ extracts, amplifying genes through PCR, conducting electrophoresis, copying, ELISA/western blotting, and purifying through affinity/exchanging ions/gel permeation chromatography. We produce valuable proteins from wheat germ extract. Our proteins are used in research, proliferate and/or differentiate stem cell for regenerative medicine, and cultured meat. Valuable proteins are currently expensive and cost over 30,000,000 JPY per gram. E. coli or mammalian cells are often used to produce them, but toxic substances to the cell from the bacteria remain, thus costly purification is prerequisite. Recombinant mammalian cells are sometimes used, in this case, there is another risk, zoonotic viruses contamination. and it causes harmful to cell because final product can not be disinfected.
Our wheat germ based cell-free protein synthesis do not have any of these issues and synthesized proteins are safe and amazingly inexpensive. With these, we can contributing to research, medical such as regenerative medicine and cultured meat so as to reduce health disparity and to contribute sustainable production and consumption.
