The Japan External Trade Organisation’s (JETRO) Sydney office is currently looking for an organisation in Australia to support JETRO’s activities as a coordinator. The following is a guideline for applications if you are interested in providing support:

Deadline for applications: 1st July 2026
Expected term of contract: date of contract to 21st March 2027

Overview:

Based on the “Strategy for Promoting Foreign Direct Investment in Japan”, adopted on June 2, 2021, the Japanese government further adopted the “Action Plan for Attracting Human and Financial Resources from Overseas” on April 26, 2023. As one of the pillars, the Action Plan emphasizes the importance of international open innovation as a key instrument in attracting foreign businesses to Japan.
Under this contract, the service provider’s support towards collaboration and cooperation between Japanese companies and Australian companies will help contribute to foreign business participation/expansion in Japanese market. Jetro aims to enhance open innovation, create new business relationships between Japan and other countries, and attract more foreign companies towards Japan/Japanese market.

Applications:

Eligibility -
a. The Client or subcontractor must ensure that the key members responsible for the execution of this project are located within Australia.
b. Basic skills and expertise needed for completion of tasks and to meet targets.
c. Relevant business experience in the field for a minimum of three years.
d. The applicant must have approval from their employer to work with JETRO.
e. If the applicant is successful, they must fulfil their responsibilities of this contract with JETRO alongside any other arrangements and obligations, business or otherwise.

Applicants are required to select and clearly indicate one (1) sector from the three sectors specified in the Specifications (Section 4(a-1)) in both their application form and proposal. Only one sector may be selected, and multiple selections are not permitted.

 

The selected sector should be clearly reflected in the content of the proposal, including the proposed approach and areas of expertise.
