Japan’s Startup Ecosystem & Business Opportunities

Seminar & Networking – Sydney & Melbourne

As part of the 4th Industrial revolution, Japan is seeking to attract innovative foreign companies and VC firms to its shores, to strengthen and lead Japan’s international competiveness. There are many multinational organisations working across Australia and Japan, and many have started to realise that innovation and entrepreneurship is an important activity for growth. This has opened new opportunities for Australian startups to do business and engage in innovation in Japan, and enhance linkages between the two countries.

Since June 2018, the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) has expanded its range of support to include startup companies, in addition to traditional Japanese foreign investment. At this seminar, we aim to encourage Australian tech/services startups to consider the attractiveness of the Japanese startup ecosystem and investment environment, and promote their entry into Japan, with the support of JETRO & Austrade.
