On Monday 16/09/2019, JETRO Sydney will hold the event, Premium Japanese Food Showcase. 22 Japanese companies from all over Japan are visiting Sydney for this special occasion.
The event will focus on education on the distinctive flavours, producers and skilled techniques of the Japanese food scene. This will include educational workshops where guests can discover how to use Japan’s unique products within modern-day, western cooking. The day will also play host to multiple premium producers and suppliers direct from Japan including wasabi, fish products, seasonings, unique pastes and premium Japanese wagyu beef.
Wakayma prefecture will also present an assortment of local foods and drink in their own food showcase, featuring Japanese plum wine (ume-shu), persimmons, vinegars, seasonings and much more.
There will also be culinary workshops with special guest chefs Nick Smith (Executive Chef & Co-Owner, Rising Sun Workshop), Nic Wong (Former Head Chef, Cho Cho San), and Hiroshi Manaka (Sous Chef, LuMi Bar & Dining).
