DJW "Asa no Kai" / DJW with Dr. Nicolas Schauer, Managing Director, Metabolomic Discoveries GmbH (Düsseldorf, 23.11.2015)

Nov 17, 2015

The issues of health and disease prevention are increasingly gaining significance especially in aging societies such as Germany and Japan. Digitalization and its advancements play an important role in this process: On the one hand, digital intercommunication and the rising provision of information online has enabled individuals to easily research in detail about how to stay healthy or to even search the web for their symptoms towards a self-diagnosis. On the other hand, it allows companies and institutions to develop new concepts for the promotion of health and personalized lifestyle recommendations with the help of for example remote monitoring, wearable devices and gene analyses.

Our speaker will discuss the ways a digital world influences the perception of health as well as the possibilities and chances coming along with digitalization. Above that, he will highlight differences and similarities of health research in two health conscious and aging societies.
