⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement :
A Outline of Basic Requirements
a The supercomputer system should be com mposed of a large-scale parallel computer, a parallel file system, a high-speed file cache system, a magnetic tape library equipment, and a 10Giga-bit Ethernet switches, etc.
b The large-scale parallel computer should be one of the world's most power- and space-efficient systems.
c Each component of the large-scale parallel computer should have high reliability. Proper countermeasures should be taken a gainst even a small component trouble so that the entire system would not crash and the influence would be minimized.
d The total peak performance of the large-scale parallel computer should be 70PFLOPS or more. The computer should satisfy a performance criteria through benchmark tests designed by JAEA.
e The capacity of the main memory of the large-scale parallel computer should be 1,159TB or more.
f The computing power, the memory bandwi dth, the interconnect-network bandwidth, etc. of the large-scale parallel computer should have performance high.
g The capacity of the parallel file system should be 32PB or more in the RAID6 configuration for the user area.
h The capacity of the high-speed file system should be user area 850TB or more.
i The capacity of the magnetic tape library equipment should be 8PB of magnetic tape.
j Fortran, C/C++, and Python compilers for effective parallel processing and MPI and OpenMP library for message passing should be provided on the large-scale parallel computer.
k The large-scale parallel computer should have appropriate application development environments (parallelizing compilers, parallelization tuning tools, etc.) to efficiently use hundreds of thousands of cores and experienced operation tools to efficiently and stably manage all of the cores.
l Support for smooth porting of the user codes and data from the present computer systems in JAEA (HPE SGI8600) to the new system should be provided.
m The immediate support for a maintenance and a trouble shooting should be provided for the supercomputer system. When JAEA judges that a system trouble is serious, an urgent trouble shooting team should be established to settle the trouble quickly.
