Facilitated by JETRO's Institute of Developing Economies (IDE), the IDE Advanced School (IDEAS) was founded in 1990 for the purpose of training front-line experts engaged in practical business related to international trade and investment.


It aims to develop the capacity of the government officials, who are engaged in the policy making related to trade and investment in the emerging and developing countries in Asia and Africa. In order to deepen the understanding of free and fair-trade rules, which Japan has been promoting so far, and to advance the facilitation of trade and investment in the regions.
