OVERVIEW

JETRO Kuala Lumpur is seeking a qualified and experienced Programme Coordinator to manage and execute our upcoming accelerator programme, the "J-StarX Malaysia DeepTech Programme (MYTech)". This tender is open to companies with a proven track record in operating accelerator programmes.


The MYTech project aims to provide support towards Japanese deeptech companies on market access into the Malaysian and/or ASEAN ecosystem. Through local ecosystem briefings, mentoring services, and business matching, applicant startup companies are given the opportunity to collaborate with local ecosystem players, seek product validation and commercialisation, investment and/or pilot opportunities.


CONTRACT TERM

The term of service shall commence from the date of agreement of the start of the programme until 28th December 2025.


PROPOSED PROGRAMME BUDGET

- RM320,000.00


FOCUS SECTORS

Deeptech startups related to the following industries:

  1. Advanced manufacturing
  2. Artificial intelligence (AI)
  3. Health & wellness
  4. Seminconductors & data centers


TARGET COMPANIES

  • - Japanese deeptech startups that are seeking to scale into the Malaysia and/or ASEAN region.
  • - Japanese startups and scaleups that are seed stage and above.
  • - Minimum cohort size of 5 companies.


PROGRAMME FORMAT

Hybrid (Online & physical segments)

  • - Up to 2 months online session (business mentoring, workshops, business matching, pitch brush up, and more)
    - Up to 2 weeks physical session (engagements with local players, workshops, mentoring, business matching, pitch event, and more)

 

SCOPE OF WORK

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Must satisfy the conditions stated in the Application Guidelines. (Attachment 1)
  2. NOT under the circumstances of being denied participation due to unethical and/or unlawful activities by either JETRO or Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) from previous procurement offerings.
  3. To be an established entity in Malaysia with representative staff members located within Malaysia.

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. A detailed proposal outlining the programme.
  2. CVs of the key personnel involved.
  3. The costing budget breakdown.
  4. References from previous clients is preferred.

All submissions must be sent to MAK@jetro.go.jp by the end of Monday, 28 April 2025.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

All proposals shall be subjected to the evaluation of JETRO Kuala Lumpur in accordance to Section 10. Screening Process of the Specification and Guideline (Attachment 1) document.


Each proposal will be put through two rounds of evaluation, upon successful passing of the first round, the applicant will be contacted for a follow-up interview by the team.


RESULT ANNOUNCEMENT

Tender will be announced to the winning applicant by email on Friday, 2 May 2025. Please note that given the nature of the bidding process, JETRO shall reserve the right to refrain from providing feedback on the results of the selection.
