GPP (Green Partnership Program)

3 main areas discussed annually under GPP policy dialogue are:
A) LCA project with SIRIM
B) Energy Efficiency & Conservation Guidelines with PTM
C) Plastic Waste Management with MPMA

T/A with SIRIM for establishment of Malaysian Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) system.


1) Dissemination of LCA concept in Malaysia through Seminar.
2) Introduction of Japanese LCA applications in Malaysia through Seminar.
3) Technical support and instruction to Malaysian Industries through Workshops.
4) 3 products to be included in LCIA studies includes PET bottle, Air Conditioner & Crude Palm Oil. Capacity Training program and working groups for C. Palm Oil, Air-condition, Energy & Nat. resources and PET bottle were also established.

T/A with PTM for establishment of Energy Conservation Guideline system in Malaysia.


1) Dissemination of Energy Conservation Guideline concept in Malaysia through Seminar and Workshops.
2) Introduction of Japanese Energy Conservation Guideline applications in Malaysia through Seminar and Workshops.
3) Technical support and instruction to Malaysian Industries through Workshops.

Plastic Waste Management & Recycling


To enhance plastics waste management and recycling activities and initiatives in Malaysia.
1) To disseminate information Waste Management & Recycling knowledge based on Japanese experience.
2) Brainstorming to identify and formulate strategies and action plan.
3) Proposed program relating to these problems.
MPMA trainees were sent twice to Japan in Mar 2006 and Nov/Dec 2006 organized by AOTS.
Upon their return, JETRO organized seminar to achieve the above objectives.
