Job Title: Project Coordinator

About Us

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a Japanese government-related organization dedicated to promoting trade and investment between Japan and foreign countries. Our Budapest office, which also covers Serbia and Kosovo, primarily conducts economic and business research for Japanese companies, promotes exports of Japanese products, and facilitates international collaboration among Japanese enterprises.

Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time staff member to join our team and support promotional and business development activities. The employee will work closely with colleagues to implement projects aimed at expanding the presence of Japanese products in the region. This role involves coordination with local stakeholders, preparation of reports and promotional materials, and participation in events and outreach initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

Main job: Promoting export from Japan to Hungary

• Organizing and conducting programs related to promoting exports from Japan (Japanese food products, content, design products, etc.)

• Administrative tasks (money transfers, salary and social insurance adjustments, procurement of consumables, etc.)

• Responding to trade consultations and inquiries

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, International Relations, or a related field

• Strong communication skills in Hungarian and English. Knowledge of Japanese language at least equivalent to level 2 (N2) of the International Japanese Language Proficiency Test

• Experience in event planning, business development, or international trade is an advantage

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with attention to detail

• Familiarity with Japanese food, culture, or content is highly desirable

• Availability for occasional travel and on-site coordination

Contract Terms (Employment Agreement)

Compensation: Salary will be determined based on the employee’s qualifications, experience, and the responsibilities of the position, in accordance with internal salary bands and applicable labor regulations.

Payment Schedule: Salary will be paid monthly, on the last working day of each month, via bank transfer.

Work Location: The primary place of work shall be the employer’s office. The employee may work remotely every third working day, subject to prior approval and in accordance with the organization’s remote work policy.

Reporting Line: The employee shall report directly to the Director or their designated representative.
