Introducing JETRO and our office
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a Japanese government-related organization with its headquarters located in Tokyo and Osaka. It was estabilished in 1958 as the nation's principal organization for trade implementing and promoting trade between Japan and the rest of the world. The primarly focus of the organization was to promote Japanese exports abroad, but in the 21st century the main core focus is to promote foreign direct investment into Japan and to help small to medium size Japanese firms to maximize their global export potential. In order to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world, JETRO utilizes fully its network; we have over 50 offices in Japan and more than 70 overseas offices. The Budapest office was estabilished in 1992, which previously solely covered Hungary, but it has since expanded its coverage to Serbia and Kosovo. Thus, contributing to the promotion of Japanese-Hungarian, Japanese-Serbian, and Japanese-Kosovar mutual business exchange activities.
Currently, our main objectives are the following;
- Promoting investments to Japan
- Helping to expand businesses to Japan
- Supporting of investments from Japan.
