Singapore's Startup Scene Heats Up

Singapore is attracting attention as a base for startups in Southeast Asia. Although the country already has an excellent reputation for its business environment, it is appealing to startups using its ease of fundraising and great business ecosystem. In Singapore, where land is limited and labor costs are high, automation is a key topic. The government is actively attracting startups from abroad, especially in the “deep tech” field. Japanese companies have already set foot in Singapore. One company that develops autonomous mobile transport robots that can follow people thanks to the “Follow Me” technology implemented their products at Changi Airport and are now looking to expand into other fields.. Another company uses AI to improve the efficiency of train track inspections, which used to rely on human labor. We followed the startup scene in Singapore as it heats up and investigated the efforts of Japanese companies doing business there as they plan to expand into the rest of Asia.
