OVERVIEW

Perhaps you’re familiar with AI (artificial intelligence) applications in electronic trading, speech recognition, and autonomous vehicles. But did you know that AI is also being used to treat patients with dementia?

JETRO-Houston has partnered with AJC (American Jewish Committee), and the Asia Society to present “Japan, US and Israel Advancements in Artificial Intelligence for Aging and Healthcare: A Dialogue with Industry and Academic Experts.” The panel discussion will cover areas of trilateral cooperation, and major AI innovations.

Special appearance by “PARO” an AI-powered robotic baby harp seal. PARO is covered in soft synthetic fur, and is equipped with 32-bit CPUs, and sensors that enable PARO to interact with its environment and develop its own character. PARO is used in therapy for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other cognition disorders.

This event will be of interest to those in the AI software, hardware, and healthcare sectors. JETRO will be available to provide resources to companies interested in entering the Japanese market.
