On December 3rd, 2020, JETRO was grateful to organize the online Nevada Business Roundtable with the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) and the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco. Japan has a strong economic friendship with Nevada, and many Japanese businesses maintain operations there and provide their services to the state.

Chief Executive Director of JETRO San Francisco, Mr. Takanari Yamashita, opened the discussion with kind words about the enduring Japan-Nevada economic friendship. Mr. Michael Brown, Executive Director of Nevada's GOED, spoke about the various industries with which Japanese companies are involved and expressed his excitement for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Consul General of Japan in San Francisco, Mr. Toru Maeda, expressed his desire to continue promoting Japanese business ties in the state.

Following this, three valuable Japan-based companies spoke about their business presences in Nevada: Mary's Gone Crackers, NTT, and Sega Sammy Creation. Each company represents a different sector in the state, but all of them were unequivocal about Nevada's business-friendly environment and its reliable consumer base.

JETRO looks forward to holding more business roundtables with the state of Nevada and to promoting further relations between Japanese and Nevada businesses.
