OVERVIEW

The U.S.-Japan Council (USJC) is pleased to announce the Japan-Texas Economic Summit, an event that will examine the historic trade ties between Japan and Texas and explore business development opportunities between Japanese and Texan businesses.

Following the highly successful Japan-Hawaii Economic Summit in 2017, the Japan-Texas Economic Summit will bring together business leaders, investors, state and local officials, and economic development organizations from across the Lone Star State and Japan for trade and partnership purposes.

Texas is a leading destination for foreign direct investment from Japan. As of 2013, Texas is the fourth most popular state for Japanese business investment. Japan-based companies located in Texas include American Honda Motor Company, Canon USA, Fujifilm USA, Hitachi Data Systems, Kawasaki Motors USA, Toshiba Business Solutions, Sony Electronics, and others.

The Summit will feature keynote addresses by prominent leaders from both countries, showcase Texas cities and their economic development opportunities, and focus on topics of importance to the Japan-Texas relationship such as industry innovation, workforce development, energy, medicine, manufacturing, transportation, finance, national security and more.

Save the date on your calendar to join us for extraordinary networking at what will be a momentous step forward in the Japan-Texas economic partnership!

Please contact USJC Director of Partnerships & Development Akiko Otani at aotani@usjapancouncil.org for more information.
