Stand out to Japanese food & drink distributors with Japan's new
certification program. This certification is recognized and sponsored by
the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF).
CERTIFICATION BENEFITS
The "Japanese Food Supporter Store" certification program promotes companies who purchase and use authentic Japanese food and drink ingredients. Companies with the certification are featured on the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) website.
Some of the primary benefits to this certification include:
- Can be used to promote the sale and use of quality, trusted Japanese food & drink products.
- Highlights U.S. company as a trusted business partner for Japanese distributors on food distribution networks
- Companies with the certification will have their business name and infomration featured on the MAFF's "Taste of Japan" website
- Highlights the U.S. company as a trusted business partner when buying seasonal ingredients from Japan
More benefits will be added to the program as it becomes available.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THIS PROGRAM
Restaurants and retail stores must meet the following requirements to receive the "Japanese Food Supporter Store" certification:
Restaurants
- Must consistently serve food using Japanese food products
- Must showcase Japanese foods, and alcohoic beverages on the menu
- Must promote the appeal and characteristics of Japanese food
Retail Stores
- Must consistently serve food using Japanese food products
- Must showcase Japanese foods, and alcohoic beverages on store shelves
- Must promote the appeal and characteristics of Japanese food & beverages
*Japanese foods are defined as agricultural, forestry, and fishery products that are produced within Japan. Process foods produced within Japan is defined by the raw materials which determine the characteristics of such products, and use agricultural, forestry, and fishery products produced within Japan as the main ingredients.
*Japanese alcholic beverages are defined as alcoholic beverages that are manufactured within Japan.
