Japan is well-known as a country of innovation and craftmanship (Monozukuri), and features dozens of global, high technology companies in industries from automotive to semiconductor to health care. Large Japanese companies often tend to think of only Silicon Valley for startups in the US, however Chicago's growing startup ecosystem is creating a buzz globally as a hotbed for innovation.
On Tuesday, February 19th, JETRO Chicago is organizing a 'reverse pitch' event at the 1871 Auditorium located in the Merchandise Mart featuring global and diversified Japanese companies Mitsubishi Electric and Panasonic.
At this event, you will hear short ' reverse pitches' from both Mitsubishi Electric and Panasonic. These companies will be outlining their company’s investment initiatives, technology strategies and challenges, and industry-specific partnership interests. After highlighting their technology and business needs, particularly in the area of factory automation, startups will have the opportunity to network with top decision-makers and engineers from each company to present their solutions and ideas.
This event is targeting attendees from startups, incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurs, VCs, investors, & universities that are interested in bringing their creative ideas and solutions to connect to global Japanese companies, or who are considering to begin or expand business in Japan.
Decision-makers from additional Japanese companies will be in attendance with table-tops, including Takahata Precision, Takachiho America, Macnica America, and more.
