Hydrogen Society Has Come: Beginning of a New Age

 

The newest issue of focus NEDO showcases the emerging hydrogen society made possible by NEDO research & development activities as well as commercialization of innovative technologies such as the Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicle.

In this issue’s “Special Dialogue,” NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa spoke with Toyota Motor Corporation’s Chief Engineer Yoshikazu Tanaka who was in charge of the Mirai’s development. Together, they discuss Toyota’s FCV program, the future of FCVs, and promoting the hydrogen society.
The second featured article focuses on NEDO’s activities in India with an interview with NEDO New Delhi Office Chief Representative Tetsuya Tanaka. NEDO’s current priorities in India include supporting Japanese industries in the fast growing market and conducting a smart community demonstration project in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s goal to build 100 smart cities in the country.
