Research and Information Services

JETRO Bangkok collects and analyzes data and information on the Thai economy and politics. The Bangkok Office provides related data, information and analysis to the public. It regularly compiles reports on the Thai economy and politics in Japanese and conducts several surveys notably the twice-yearly “Business Survey on Japanese Companies in Thailand” as a member of the Economic Research Committee of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok (JCCB). The report of the survey is available in Japanese, Thai and English.

As a result of the merger with IDE Bangkok, JETRO Bangkok is now equipped with comprehensive research on economic and related affairs in developing regions, particularly the Asian region, in addition to its existing research capabilities. Topics undertaken by IDE’s Research Department include the “East Asian Economic Forecast for 2000 and 2001”.

JETRO is a primary source of reliable data and information on Japan, covering a wide range of business subjects, trade and economics.

The Bangkok office has established a comprehensive library equipped with facts, figures and statistics of international trade as well as marketing information on Japanese products including standardization of products, and rules, regulations and procedures of importation to Japan.

Library staff are on to offer trade inquiry services and to introduce potential Japanese counterparts to local business people.

Currently, JETRO Bangkok library has been relocated to the JETRO Business Support Center of Thailand (BSCT) which is on the 1st Floor of Thai Obayashi Building next to JETRO Bangkok office.
