In 2018, the company merged with US renewable energy solution company AlsoEnergy. With the combined output of the solar and wind power plants using the systems of both companies at more than 30 gigawatts in more than 192,000 sites, the merger has created a world-leading company in the field.

In Japan, the system has already been adopted in several mega solar plants (large-scale solar power plants with a capacity above 1 MW) including for Hokkaido Electric Power. skytron energy Japan KK was established in Tokyo in May 2017 to further expand sales channels and strengthen after-sales support. The company’s first Japanese base in Asia, it has not only strengthened service support in Japan but also cultivated new customers in Asia. In November 2018, it relocated its Tokyo office and expanded personnel.

To assist with the establishment of the company’s base in Japan, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided consultation on company registration, tax and labor matters; information on the market and regulations; and referrals to local service providers (a certified legal specialist in company registration and visa application, tax accountant and social insurance labor consultant).
